QUINCY, Ill. | Pepsi Arena - Eight-ranked and top-seeded McKendree University men's wrestling (16-5, 5-0 / W11) earned its way to a league-best seventh Great Lakes Valley Conference title on Sunday afternoon with two strong wins in the conference championship, defeating No.25 Indianapolis, 22-13, and slamming the door on Maryville, 20-18. The Bearcats collected their third-straight and back-to-back outright titles with the performance at Pepsi Arena, marking not only the program's seventh overall conference championship but also head coach
James Kisgen's 250th career dual victory. McKendree went into the championship event as the #1 Seed after going 5-0 in the regular season for the regular sesaon crown as well. Kisgen and his Bearcats will look to make noise in the rest of postseason at the NCAA Super Region IV Championships on February 28 in Edmond, Oklahoma, and then at NCAA Division II National Championships two weeks after in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on March 14-15.

250th WIN for Kisgen
Kisgen, in his 23rd season at the helm of the Bearcats after beginning the program in 2003-04, has built a powerhouse which continues to showout at all levels and his program how led him to his 250th career dual victory behind their title run. He opened the year at 234 victories in his tenure and with an 11-dual win streak to close the season, has put him at 250 all-time. The championship dual win over the Saints (RV) marked win number 250.
