Biography
BEFORE McK: Was a two-time Chuck Merdock Award winner, named to the Journal Star All-Area team, First Team All-Mid-Illini Conference honoree and Second team All-Mid-Illini honoree (for football) for the Dragons of Pekin Community High School. Dowell was the first wrestler to make it to the finals in the 3A division State Finals in 21 years, and also the first wrestlers in 18 years to place in the 3A division State Finals tournament where took sixth overall as a junior. During his four-year career, Dowell recorded an overall 101-31 record and was a team captain.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Margaret and late Scott Dowell.
