2020-21: Had six top-20 finish, his highest at third on Vandalia Lake... took fifth on Kinkaid Lake, eighth on Stephen Forbes Lake, 16th on Centralia Lake, 11th on Vandalia Lake, and sixth on Carlyle Lake

2019-20: Posted two top-5 performances in tournament competition… was runner-up at the Glenn Shoals Invitational… was fifth at the Illinois Bass Nation (IBN) State Championship and took Big Bass honors for his 5.04lb catch.

2018-19: Posted five top-10 performances in tournament competition… was eighth at the McKendree Fall Invitational… was 85^th at the Yeti FLW Central Conference Regional… was third at the Illinois Bass Nation (IBN) State Championship… was third at the Outlaw Outdoors Texas Collegiate National Championship Qualifier… was fourth at the University of North Alabama Invitational… was 193^rd at the 2019 Bassmaster Collegiate Tour… was 106^th at the Bassmaster Carhartt Collegiate Tour… was runner-up at the Greenville Open.

2017-18: Recorded five top-20 performances in tournament competition… won the McKendree Spring Invitational...was runner-up at the Illinois State Championship...took ninth at the McKendree Fall Invitational...was 12th at the FLW Central Conference Tournament in Wisconsin...tied for 15th place at the FLW Central Conference qualifier held at Kentucky and Barkley Lakes...qualified for both the FLW National Championship and the Bassmaster National Championship...placed 45th at the FLW National Championship and 57th at the Bassmaster National Championship.

BEFORE McK: Had an accomplished high school career at Douglass High School...compiled numerous top-five finishes...was very active in the DETX (Deep East Texas) Series...had second, third and fourth-place finishes in this series on Lake Sam Rayburn...also had a huge effort in the Patriot Challenge Championship on Sam Rayburn, placing second overall...along with the DETX Series, Bruener fished the Texas B.A.S.S. tournaments...in 2014, 2015 and 2017 he qualified for the B.A.S.S. High School National Championship...also starred in Texas High School State Championship competition, where he was crowned the B.A.S.S. Texas state champion in 2015 and finished 13th in 2017.
