McKendree University Athletics

2020-21: Had five top-20 finishing, his finish at second place on Governor Bond Lake at the Greenville University Spring Invitational... finished 37th on the Ohio River… was a member of the 2020 FLW Central Division Championship team… qualified for the FLW National Championship on Kentucky Lake… finished 80th at MLF National Championship on Grand Lake... took 16th on Kinkaid lake, 13th on Stephen Forbes Lake, and 12th on Vandalia Lake

2019-20: Posted three top-10 performances in tournament competition… was eighth at the McKendree Vandalia Invitational… was fifth at the Glenn Shoals Invitational… was fourth at the Illinois Bass Nation (IBN) State Championship.

2018-19: Posted tow top-10 performances in tournament competitions… was sixth at the McKendree Vandalia Invitational… was fifth at the McKendree Invitational.

BEFORE McK: Competed in many different tournament circuits, including the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Sectionals and State Finals, Bassmaster High School Opens, Illinois Bass Nation Events, Anglers Choice and the Andrew Tournament Series...had multiple top-five finishes...in the high school BASS Series he placed 29th at Lake of the Ozarks and 30th out of 287 boats on Lay Lake in Alabama...finished third out of 53 teams in the Anglers Choice Circuit with six top-10 efforts and qualifed for their Classic three years in a row...in the IBN Series Berens was a double qualifier for the IBN State Championship...had first place finishes on Calumet Lake and on the Mississippi River at Pool 13...at the 2017 IHSA Sectionals he place first and later registered an eighth place showing in the State Finals. Berens also had a second place finish in the Andrew Series on the Illinois River...was selected as one of only two anglers chosen to Bassmaster's Illinois All-State Team...was selected to the Bassmaster All-America Team, an honor that is awarded to just 12 high school anglers from across the country.
