Biography
2020-21: Had nine top-20 finishes, his highest at first at Governor Bond Lake and first overall with the Big Bass catch on Coffeen Lake... took 17th on Kinkaid Lake, fourth on Vandalia Lake, seventh and qualified for the FLW National Championship on the Ohio River, fourth on Centralia Lake, sixth at the Big Bass Bash on Kentucky Lake, sixth on Carlyle Lake, fourth at Greenville University Spring Invite... was a member of the 2020 FLW Central Division Championship team… finished 115th at Carhartt Bassmaster National Championship and 58th at MLF National Championship on Grand Lake
2019-20: Posted five top-25 performances in tournament competition… was eighth at the Bassmaster National Championship… was fourth at the McKendree Vandalia Invitational… was 25th at the FLW Central Conference Regional… was ninth at the Bass Pro Shops Aftco Open… won the 2020 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series.
2018-19: Posted seven top-10 performances in tournament competition… was 10th at the McKendree Vandalia Invitational… was fourth at the Cabela’s Open with the second big bass (6.52) catch of the tournament… won the Illinois Bass Nation (IBN) State Championship and qualified for the Bassmaster National Championship… was runner-up at the University of North Alabama Invitational… was third at the 2019 Bassmaster Collegiate Tour… was 46th at the FLW Central Conference Tournament… was eighth at the McKendree Invitational… was runner-up at the Greenville Open… was 74th at the FLW National Championship.
2017-18: Recorded three top-20 performances in tournament competition… was fifth at the Murray State Spring Invitational...took seventh at the Illinois State Championship...was 13th overall at the Bassmaster event at Toledo Bend Reservoir in Louisiana...qualified for the Cabela's National Championship and the Bassmaster National Championship...took 73rd place at the Cabela's National Championship and 75th at the Bassmaster National Championship.
BEFORE McK: Comes to McKendree from Father McGivney Catholic High School and enjoyed a very productive high school career...was a driving force behind the formation of the bass fishing team at Father McGivney...began fishing as a solo team member...piloted the boat to a second-place finish in qualifying for the IHSA sectional qualifying during the program's inaugural season, then followed that effort by single-handedly winning the IHSA state championship...also claimed Big Bass honors during the state finals...has also been very active on the tournament scene...fished the Illinois BASS high school series which included a pair of top-10 finishes -- second place at Lake Springfield and sixth place at Lake Shabonna...also fished the Big Bass Trail Circuit, where he had five top-10 efforts.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Tia and Walter Jones.
