McKendree University Athletics

Keenan Smith joined the McKendree coaching staff in the fall of 2017 as a graduate assistant for the Bearcat tennis programs. In September 2018, Smith was elevated into the role of interim head coach for the men's and women's tennis squads.

Smith, a native of Kansas, spent the 2017 spring season as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Kansas. During his time on the Jayhawks' staff, he helped guide the program to a No. 14 national ranking. Smith began his collegiate coaching career at his alma mater, Emporia State University, as an assistant coach for the Fall 2016 semester.

A four-year member of the Emporia State men's tennis program, Smith excelled at No. 1 singles and doubles for the Hornets. He was named to the Academic Honor Roll during his career at Emporia State. 

Smith also gained valuable experience playing professionally in Germany.
