Dylan Mueth is a recent graduate of McKendree where he earned his master's in higher education and his bachelor's in physical education. While playing for the Bearcats he amassed a total of 169 points (98 goals, 71 assists) in four seasons. In his final season, he captained the Bearcats to their first appearance at the ACHA Division 3 National Tournament since the 2010-11 season.
Â
Dylan recently joined the Southern Illinois Ice Hawks Hockey Association (SIIH) as the director of player development, where he will serve as a leader in the Learn-to-Play program alongside his former coach, Jason Power.

"I believe it's tough for any athlete to realize that their playing days are over, but I'm very excited at the prospect of transitioning from player to coach and staying involved with the game," said Mueth. "I've got a lot of passion for this game and believe I can be a better coach than I was a player." Taking on a coaching position is something Dylan said he has been striving for since he began studying physical education.
Â
"Dylan will help our staff in many areas," said coach Henson. "His energy will be infectious to both the athletes and the staff. Dylan just ended his playing career, so he can provide our athletes with an on-ice perspective on much of our competition, which will be invaluable to us."
