Isaac Fisher joined the McKendree University football coaching staff as a graduate assistant in August of 2017. Fisher will help assistant head coach Michael Harrison in tutoring the Bearcats' secondary.Â
Fisher is no stranger to the McKendree football program as he enjoyed a record-setting career as the Bearcats' starting quarterback from 2012-15. Fisher currently holds every major career and single-season passing record at McKendree, as well as marks for total offense. He is the only player in Bearcat football history to amass more than 10,000 career yards in total offense, sitting atop the list with 10,257 yards. Fisher established new career standards for passing yards (8,508), completions (780), pass attempts (1,255), completion percentage (.622) and touchdown passes (64) when his playing days concluded. Fisher was also equally adept at running the football for the Bearcats, and his 1,749 career rushing yards rank seventh on the program's all-time chart.Â
During the 2014 campaign, Fisher enjoyed one of the most prolific season ever produced by a McKendree quarterback. He set new single-season standards with 270 completions on 434 attempts for 2,722 yards and tied a team record with 19 TD passes. Fisher also led the Bearcats with 764 rushing yards and nine touchdown rushes on his way to honorable mention All-Conference honors in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. A year later, Fisher broke his own team record by throwing for 2,792 yards and set a new mark with 21 touchdown passes. In addition, Fisher topped his own standard for rushing yards by a Bearcat quarterback with 803 yards and added nine more scores on the ground. For his efforts, Fisher was named the 2015 GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, becoming the first McKendree player to earn the honor.Â
Fisher is the only McKendree quarterback to throw for 300 yards in a game multiple times, having accomplished the feat nine different times in his four-year career. He still holds the Bearcats' single-game record with a 375-yard passing performance in the 2013 season opener at home against Tiffin University. Fisher also registered a new standard for any Bearcat quarterback by throwing six touchdown passes in the 2015 regular-season opener at West LIberty University.Â
After the completion of his collegiate football eligiblity, Fisher spent the summer of 2016 playing for the Wasa Royals in the Vaahteraliigc -- or Maple League -- which is the highest level of football in Finland.Â
Along with his stellar football career, Fisher was a two-year starter at third base for the McKendree baseball program. He led all starters with a .322 batting average as a senior in 2017. Fisher led McKendree with 47 base his in his final season on the baseball diamond while tying for second on the team with 22 runs batted in.Â
