(St. LOUIS, Mo., January 15)- The McKendree University women's basketball team dropped a 89-48 decision to Missouri Baptist University on Saturday.
McKendree fell to 5-12 overall and 1-3 in the American Midwest Conference with the loss and will travel to Columbia, Mo., on January 18th to face Stephens College in an AMC contest at 7 p.m.
Sophomore forward
Courtney Harris (St. Louis, Mo., St. Joseph Academy) led the Bearcats with 12 points and also pulled down eight rebounds. Sophomore guard
Leann Voss (Breese, Ill., Breese Central) also scored in double figures with 11 points. Senior guard
Kasie Frazier (Lebanon, Ill., Lebanon) also recorded a career-high nine points in the loss.
The Bearcats trailed by one early in the first half, but the Spartans made 12 three-pointer's in the remaining 15 minutes of the half to take a 54-28 lead into the break. McKendree continued to struggle in the second half and the Bearcats dropped to their third conference game of the season.
All five Missouri Baptist starters scored in double-figures and were led by Alexis Rhoades' 18 points, while Megan Payton scored 17 points. Kylee Grant tallied 16 on the day, and Andrea Seabaugh and Ashley Johnson scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.
