(RENSSELAER, Ind., October 12)- The McKendree University women's soccer team pushed its winning streak to five games behind a four-goal first half on Wednesday with a 5-2 win against Saint Joseph's College.
The Bearcats improved to 8-6 overall and will host Missouri Baptist University on Thursday October 20th at 6 p.m. McKendree defeated Missouri Baptist, 4-1, in their first meeting this season on September 30th.

Chrissy Ghirardi (O'Fallon, Mo./Ft. Zumwalt South) to take a 1-0 lead. Junior forward
Carlee Luehmann (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) gave McKendree a two goal lead in the 26th minute off an assist by sophomore forward
Amy Cassiday (Rochester, Ill./Rochester), only for the Pumas to cut the deficit in half in the 37th minute on a free kick by Stephanie Wiethop. Freshman forward
Natalie Crane (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) pushed the lead out to 3-1 in the 38th minute off Ghirardi's second assist of the match. Kilian struck again in the 43rd minute off an assist by senior midfielder
Sulyn Keomanivane (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) to take a 4-1 lead into the half.
McKendree scored its fifth and final goal of the game in the 54th minute when Cassiday put it past the keeper off an assist Luehmann. Saint Joseph's scored in the 65th minute to make the score 5-2, but failed to put another shot past freshman goalkeeper
Taylor Zerbe (St. Louis, Mo./Trinity Catholic) and the Bearcats extended their winning streak to five games.
Zerbe improved to 7-6 overall with the win and matched her career-high with 13 saves in the victory. She previously recorded 13 saves earlier this season in a 6-0 loss against Vanguard University.
