GAME NOTES

(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 14)--
For the third time this season -- and the second consecutive week -- the McKendree University football team will be in the Hawkeye State to take on a former Mid-States Football Association-Midwest League foe.

The Bearcats will be in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday for a match-up with Grand View University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Williams Stadium. The contest will be broadcast live on the Bearcat Sports Network (www.mckbearcats.com) and on the flagship station of Bearcat football, Cardinal Country WIBV (102.1 FM). Scott Cummings will have the pre-game show at 12:45 p.m., followed by all the live play-by-play action.

McKendree, 0-5 on the year, has won both of its previous meetings with the Vikings, with each game being decided in the fourth quarter. Two years ago in Des Moines, the Bearcats used a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to hold off the Vikings 35-17. Last year at Leemon Field, McKendree rallied twice in the contest, posting the game-winning points midway through the final period to register a 20-17 victory on Senior Day. That win sealed the Bearcats' seventh and final MSFA Midwest League title.

Last Saturday in Davenport, Iowa, McKendree dropped a 28-7 decision to Saint Ambrose University. The Bearcats scored in the closing seconds of the first half to pull within 14-7 at the intermission, but the Fighting Bees scored in each of the final two quarters to register the win.

Grand View enters Saturday's contest with a record of 4-3. The Vikings moved to 3-1 in the MSFA Midwest League with a convincing 65-6 win last weekend at Waldorf College. Grand View rolled up 596 yards of total offense while its defense was just as tough, limiting the host Warriors to just 58 yards on the day.

Saturday's games marks the end of a tough road stretch for the Bearcats. It will be McKendree's fourth road game in a five-week span. The Bearcats will be at home next Saturday for a Homecoming tilt against Trinity International University.
