(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 25)--The McKendree University men's tennis team cruised to its second consecutive victory with an 8-1 decision Friday against the University of Illinois at Springfield. The match was held at Kings Point Tennis Club in Belleville.

The Bearcats, ranked No. 20 in the first NAIA regular-season rating that was released earlier in the week, swept through singles play and took two of three doubles contests in rolling to the non-conference victory. McKendree is now 2-1 on the season. The Bearcats will hit the road for the first time in 2011 on Saturday for a match at the University of Indianapolis. The contest is slated for a 5 p.m. start.
