Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., January 12)- The McKendree University women's basketball team lost to Lindenwood University 72-61 on Thursday night.

The Bearcats dropped to 6-13 overall and will host University of Central Oklahoma on January 21st at 2 p.m.

Freshman guard Caty Ponce (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) led the Bearcats with 16 points, while redshirt senior guard Ashley Agee (Moberly, Mo./Moberly) chipped in 13 points.

McKendree trailed early before battling back and taking a 9-8 lead on a layup by redshirt junior forward Emily Woodland (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) at the 16:25 mark. Both teams battled back-and-forth and the Bearcats trailed 24-22 with under five minutes remaining, only for the Lady Lions to close out the half strong and take a 33-25 lead at the break.

Lindenwood held a 10 point lead for the first nine minutes of the half, before McKendree cut the deficit to 51-46 with 10:33 left in the game. The Lady Lions responded with five-straight points to jump back out to a double-digit lead and held on to deal the Bearcats the loss.

Lindenwood had four players score in double-figures and were led by Marissa Lehnig's 19 points. Caroline Bourlioux added 15 points, while Sarah Schnieders and Morgan Harrington had 13 and 10 points, respectively.
