The McKendree University women's basketball team will begin its 2012-13 season on Saturday at 2 p.m., at Missouri Baptist University.
It is the season opener for McKendree, while the Spartans are currently 1-0 on the season. The Bearcats will host their home opener on Tuesday, November 13 in a non-conference match-up against Missouri S&T at 7 p.m.
2012-13 SEASON OPENER: Saturday marks the 2012-13 season opener for the McKendree University women's basketball team. The Bearcats are 10-5 in season openers under head coach

GREAT LAKES VALLEY CONFERENCE: The Bearcats will play its first full season as members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). McKendree is a provisional member of NCAA Division II and is in its final year of transition towards becoming a full DII member.
GLVC OPPONENTS: Last season, the Bearcats posted a 1-6 record against current GLVC members. McKendree defeated Lewis University, 64-57, on November 14, 2011.
GLVC PRESEASON POLL: McKendree was picked to finish in eighth place in the East Division of the GLVC in the preseason GLVC Coaches Poll.
