WEEKLY GAME NOTES | WATCH LIVE (TUESDAY) | LIVE STATS (TUESDAY) | LISTEN LIVE (SATURDAY)

(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 11)--
The McKendree University men's basketball team will wrap up the non-conference portion of its 2012-13 schedule this week with a pair of games. The Bearcats will close out a six-game home stand on Tuesday by hosting Robert Morris University-Springfield before hitting the road for a non-conference tilt at Trevecca Nazarene University on Saturday. The Robert Morris-Springfield game is set for a 7 p.m. start at the Harry M. Statham Sports Center, while the Trevecca Nazarene contest will begin at 4 p.m. in Nashville, Tenn.

McKendree enters the week riding a five-game win streak, which is the longest for the program since a nine-game tear late in the 2010-11 season. The Bearcats had to rally late on Saturday against MacMurray College to extend its streak, 73-70. John Steppe (Effingham, IL/St. Anthony) scored the eventual game-winning basket with 37.2 seconds remaining, and Clinton Happe (Evansville, IN/F.J. Reitz) added two free throws with 8.8 seconds on the clock to seal the victory for McKendree. Steppe notched his fourth double-double of the season with game-high totals of 21 points and 11 rebounds against the Highlanders, while Happe finished the night with 18 points.

Robert Morris-Springfield brings a 3-4 overall record to Lebanon. The Eagles matched up against another Great Lakes Valley Conference school on Saturday and dropped a 66-54 decision at Maryville University. Jordan Softley, Robert Morris-Springfield's leading scorer this season, had a team-high 14 points against the Saints. McKendree won a pair of meetings last year against the Eagles -- 83-67 on Jan. 19 in Springfield, Ill., and 87-51 in Lebanon on Feb. 10.

The Bearcats will be looking to complete the season sweep of Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday. The Bearcats rallied from a 10-point deficit in the second half to post an 80-70 win over the Trojans on Dec. 1 at the Statham Center. Mike DiGregorio (Morton Grove, IL/Niles Notre Dame) led the way with 22 points while John Steppe (Effingham, IL/St. Anthony) and Matt Murphy (Jerseyville, IL/Jersey Community) each posted 17 points in the effort. Trevecca Nazarene is 2-9 on the season, and is coming off an 80-66 loss at the University of Alabama-Huntsville this past Saturday.

Following the Trevecca Nazarene contest, McKendree will have nearly three weeks to prepare for its GLVC debut. The Bearcats will host the University of Illinois Springfield in the team's inaugural GLVC contest on Jan. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
