LIVE VIDEO | LIVE STATS

(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 10)--
The McKendree University men's basketball team will return from a 10-day layoff to host Robert Morris University-Springfield on Tuesday night at the Harry M. Statham Sports Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. The game can also be seen live on the Bearcat Sports Network at www.mckbearcats.com/watchlive, beginning with the pre-game show at approximately 6:45 p.m. Joe Zydlo and Kent Zimmerman will have the call of the contest.

The Bearcats have not taken to the court since Nov. 30, when they posted an 84-80 road victory at Trevecca Nazarene University. McKendree led by as many as 15 points in the second half, but had to hold off a late comeback bid from the host Trojans to post the win. The Bearcats enter Tuesday's contest with an overall record of 4-1.

Tuesday's game will also mark the start of a five-game home stand for McKendree. The Bearcats will close out non-conference play with Robert Morris-Springfield, followed by games next week against Trevecca Nazarene (Dec. 16) and Benedictine University-Springfield (Dec. 20). The home stand will conclude in the new calendar year when McKendree opens up Great Lakes Valley Conference play against the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Jan. 3, followed by a visit from Maryville University two days later on Jan. 5. This will be the first of two five-game home stands for the Bearcats, who will play five home contests in a nine-day stretch from Jan. 16-25.

McKendree continues to use a balanced scoring attack in the early portion of the 2013-14 season. Through five games, the Bearcats have six players averaging in double figures. Senior guard Clinton Happe (Evansville, IN/F.J. Reitz) leads the way at 16.2 points per game, while senior forward Will Kirksey (St. Louis, MO/Lafayette) and junior forward Matt Holmes (Houston, TX/Marshall) are close behind at 16 points per outing. Also averaging in double digits are junior guard Mike DiGregorio (Morton Grove, IL/Niles Notre Dame) (13.6 PPG), junior forward Arthur Williams (Cairo, IL/Cairo) (11.2 PPG) and junior forward Jeremy Price (Chicago, IL/Curie) (10.2 PPG). Williams currently ranks second in the GLVC in rebounding at 10 boards a game. Happe has dished out 21 assists on the year to lead the way for McKendree.

Robert Morris-Springfield brings a 5-6 overall record into Tuesday's tilt. The Eagles are no stranger to the GLVC this season as they have already faced five other conference foes of McKendree -- Quincy University, Missouri S & T, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Maryville University and the University of Illinois Springfield. Robert Morris-Springfield last played on Saturday in a cross-town matchup with UIS, which resulted in a 93-79 victory for the host Prairie Stars.

Senior guard Denzell Walker leads the way for the Eagles. He is averaging a team-high 23.7 points per game, which includes a game-high 32-point effort at UIS on Saturday. Junior guard Brandel Griggs added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort.

McKendree has won all three previous meetings with Robert Morris-Springfield, including last year's 77-53 triumph at the Statham Center on Dec. 11, 2012. Happe and sophomore forward Matt Murphy (Jerseyville, IL/Jersey Community) each had 17 points in the contest for McKendree.
