McKendree Women's Basketball Set To Host Senior Night Tonight, Head To Southern Indiana On Saturday

The McKendree University women's basketball team will host Kentucky Wesleyan College on Thursday, Feb. 21 for Senior Night at 5:30 p.m., before traveling to Evansville, Ind., on Saturday, Feb. 23 to play University of Southern Indiana.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS: Kentucky Wesleyan College enters the week with a record of 16-7 overall and 11-4 in the GLVC. The Panthers split its two conference games last weekend, defeating Saint Joseph's, 68-37, on Thursday, before dropping a 75-64 decision at Indianapolis. Kentucky Wesleyan picked up a non-conference win on Monday against Oakland City University, 80-68. McKendree is winless in three previous meetings against the Panthers, most recently dropping a 76-73 decision in Owensboro, Ky., on Jan. 31.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES: University of Southern Indiana enters the week with an overall record of 17-5 and 9-6 in the GLVC. The Eagles split their two games last weekend, losing on Thursday, 70-66, at Indianapolis, before bouncing back with a 73-62 win at Saint Joseph's on Saturday. McKendree is 0-1 all-time against Southern Indiana, losing the first meeting, 73-63, on Feb. 2.

MILESTONE WATCH: Shelby Woelfel (Jerseyville, Ill./Jerseyville) needs one block to move into sole possession of eighth place on McKendree's all-time blocks list. Woelfel is currently tied with with Suzy Gerler with 78 career blocks. She also recently moved into the top ten in career rebounds. Woelfel is currently in 10th place with 571 rebounds, seven shy of tying Amy May for ninth place. Leann Voss (Breese, Ill./Breese Central) needs one steal to move into sole possession of sixth place in career steals at McKendree. Voss is currently tied with Katie Hasheider with 180 career steals. Caty Ponce (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) recently moved up on McKendree's top ten list for three-pointer's in a single season. Ponce is currently in 4th place with 55 this season. Liz Gilman (St. Louis, Mo./Principia) is tied for fifth place with Katie Hasheider and Brandi Higgins with 54 three-pointer's this season. The single-season school record for three-pointer's in a single season is held by Jacque Clark, who had 62 during the 2003-04 season.
