Caty Ponce (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) and
Brittany Willis (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway South) combined to score 30 of McKendree's 58 points on Saturday in a 58-45 win at University of Southern Indiana.
The Bearcats improve to8-17 overall and 3-14 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with the win, and will close out its season on Thursday, Feb. 28 in Louisville, Ky., at Bellarmine University at 5:45 p.m. ET.
Ponce scored 19 points, including a 7-of-8 effort from the free throw line, while Willis added 11 points for McKendree.
A three-pointer by Southern Indiana gave them a 3-2 lead, but the Bearcats responded with an 11-0 run to build a 13-3 lead with 13:25 left in the half.
McKendree took advantage of the Eagles' shooting struggles in the first half and outscored the hosts, 9-2, to end the half with a 32-15 lead.
The Bearcats held the host Eagles to a 17.9-percent shooting (7-39) from the field in the first half, including 1-of-13 effort from beyond the arc.
McKendree led by double-digits the entire second half and held its largest lead, 42-21, at the 14:21 mark following a three-pointer by Ponce.
Ariel Barnes led all players with 20 points for Southern Indiana in the loss.
