(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., April 21)- The McKendree University softball team dropped both games of a conference doubleheader on Sunday at No. 1 University of Indianapolis, falling 4-0 in game one and 5-1 in game two.
The Bearcats fall to 9-26 overall and 7-20 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will travel to Louisville, Ky., on Wednesday, April 24 to face Bellarmine University in a GLVC doubleheader.
The host Greyhounds scored a run a piece in the first in third innings, and added two additional runs in the sixth inning in game one. Sophomore first baseman

Kelsie Stoszkus (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township), and sophomore shortstop
Caty Ponce (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) all had hits in the game one loss for McKendree.
In game two, Indianapolis led 5-0 heading into the seventh inning, only for sophomore centerfielder
Erica Johnson (New Baden, Ill./Wesclin) to double to right-centerfield. Stoszkus followed with a single to centerfield that brought around Johnson to score to cut the deficit to 5-1. The Bearcats were unable to reach base with its final two outs to fall in game two. Johnson had two hits, including the double, and a run scored to lead McKendree at the plate in game two.
