Box Score (QUINCY, Ill., Jan. 9)- The McKendree University women's basketball team had three score in double-figures on Thursday in a 92-66 loss at No. 23 Quincy University.
The Bearcats fall to 6-5 overall and 1-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference following the loss and will travel to Kirksville, Mo., on Saturday, Jan. 11 to face Truman State University at 1 p.m.
Senior guard
Brittany Willis (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway South) led all players with 22 points, while freshmen forwards
Amber Alexander (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) and
Emily Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) had 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The host Hawks had the hot hand in the first half, shooting 65.6-percent from the field to McKendree's 30.8-percent in the opening period. Quincy scored 20 points off the Bearcat's 11 first-half turnovers on its way to a 54-27 lead at the half.
McKendree found its groove in the second half, shooting an even 50-percent on 16-of-32 shooting effort from the field, but the deficit was too much to overcome in the loss.
Lucy Cramsey led Quincy with 18 points.
