(WILLIAMSBURG, Ky., Oct. 11)- The No. 7 McKendree University women's wrestling team finished in sixth place at the Patriot Duals on Saturday. The two-day tournament was hosted by the University of the Cumberlands.

The Bearcats picked up back-to-back wins in pool competition on Friday with a 30-19 win over No. 9 Missouri Baptist University, followed by a 41-5 win over Lindenwood University "B," before falling 37-4 in its final match of the day to No. 1 King University.

In bracket competition on Saturday, McKendree lost to No. 3 Lindenwood, 24-18, before bouncing back with a close, 24-22, win over Missouri Baptist. The Bearcats lost their next match in the consolation semifinals to No. 4 Campbellsville University, 21-16, before being edged, 23-22, by Lindenwood in the fifth place dual.

McKendree will be back on the mats Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Spartan Open hosted by Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Mo.
