Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 6)- The McKendree University women's basketball team had four players score in double-figures on Saturday in a 77-39 win over Central Christian College (Mo.).
The Bearcats improve to 1-5 overall and will travel to Anchorage, Alaska on Dec. 13-14 for games against No. 18 University of Alaska-Anchorage on Saturday on Sunday.
Sophomore
Gabrielle Williams (Minooka, Ill./Plainfield East) led all players with 22 points and 11 rebounds to record her first career double-double at McKendree. Senior guard
Caty Ponce (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) added 11 points, while junior guard
Kelsee Ennis (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) and senior guard
Haeley Kreisel (Warsaw, Mo./Warsaw) each had season-high's with 10 points.
The Bearcats used an early 6-0 run to take a 13-4 lead with just over 14 minutes to play in the opening half. A jumper by Williams gave McKendree its first double-digit lead of the game at the (;09 mark of the opening half, and the Bearcats finished strong with a 10-0 run before the half to take a 39-17 lead into the break.
McKendree shot 66.7-percent from the field in the second half to continue extending its lead, and went on to earn a 77-39 victory.
Katelynn Frazier led the Saints with 17 points.
