(LEBANON, Ill., April 23)- The McKendree University men's team climbed two spots to No. 6 in the latest NCAA Division II Midwest Region ranking.
The Bearcats are currently 19-6 overall and moved up two spots after earning a fourth place finish at the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament last weekend. McKendree earned an upset win over University of Missouri-St. Louis, 5-4, in the opening round, before dropping close matches to No. 31 University of Indianapolis, 5-2, in the championship semifinals, and No. 24 University of Southern Indiana, 5-4, in the third place match.
The NCAA Division II men's tennis postseason selection show is on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m., on NCAA.com. The top eight teams from the midwest region will earn bids into the championship field. The final region ranking will be released on Monday, April 28 at 11 a.m.
