Box Score (ROMEOVILLE, Ill., Jan. 15)- The McKendree University women's basketball team dropped a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest at No. 1 Lewis University on Thursday 91-57.

The Bearcats fall to 1-12 overall and 0-5 in the GLVC and will travel to Somers, Wis., on Saturday, Jan. 17 to face University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 1 p.m.

Senior guard Caty Ponce (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) had 14 points to lead McKendree, while sophomore forward Gabrielle Williams (Minooka, Ill./Plainfield East) added 10 points. It was Ponce's 73rd career double-digit scoring effort and Williams' seventh double-digit game this season.

The Flyers flexed their offensive muscle in the paint, scoring 60 of their 91 points in the post in the contest. McKendree was unable to match top-ranked Lewis offensively, shooting 30.9-percent from the field to the Flyers' 60.9-percent.
