Gabrielle Williams (Minooka, Ill./Plainfield East) poured in a career-high 24 points and pulled down nine boards on Saturday in McKendree's 77-59 women's basketball loss at University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
The Bearcats fall to 1-13 overall and 0-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will travel to Springfield, Ill., to face University of Illinois at Springfield at 5:30 p.m.
Williams' 24 points led all players, while senior guard
Caty Ponce (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) added 12 points. Junior forward
Danielle Amann-Stewart (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) rounded out McKendree's double-digit scoring with 11 points.
The Bearcats kept things within striking distance in the first half, but were unable to find its range from beyond the arc to make a run in the second half. McKendree was 1-of-11 from three in the game, while the Rangers made seven in the contest, including four in the second half to pull away down the stretch.
