(WILLIAMSBURG, Ky., Oct.10)- The McKendree University women's wrestling team closed out its first weekend of competition on Saturday with a fourth place finish at the Patriot Duals hosted by University of the Cumberlands.

The Bearcats will return to the mats on Oct. 23-24 when they travel to Oklahoma City, Okla., to comepte at the Cliff Keen Duals.

McKendree opened the final day with a 28-16 win over Lindenwood University, before losing to King University, 37-7, to drop into the consolation bracket. The Bearcats bounced back with a 30-14 win over Campbellsville University to wrestle in the third place match, but lost 30-17 to finish in fourth place.

The McKendree "B" squad also competed at the event, and finished in fifth place in the red bracket with a record of 3-2 on Saturday.
