Jordan Morton (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South) scored a career-high 13 points, but it wouldn't be enough for the McKendree University women's basketball team in a 77-56 loss at Lincoln University on Wednesday night.
The Bearcats fall to 1-2 overall and will host Southwest Baptist University on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 3 p.m.
Junior forward
Emily Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) joined Morton as McKendree's two double-digit scorers in the loss with a season-high 12 points and seven rebounds.
It was a closely played first half, with the Bearcats trailing, 18-17, after the first quarter, and playing the hosts even in the second quarter to only trail 31-30 at the half. McKendree scored 18 points in the paint in the first half, but Lincoln held the Bearcats to only four points in the post in the third quarter, and extended their lead to 53-41 heaidng into the fourth. McKendree was unable to cut into the deficit in the final 10 minutes of play, and lost its first road game of the season.
Zuri Hill led Lincoln with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
