(SAINT CHARLES, Mo., Nov. 24)- The McKendree University women's basketball team was unable to overcome a slow start on Tuesday in a 70-46 loss at Lindenwood University.
The Bearcats fall to 1-4 overall and will open up Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Thursday, Dec. 3 at University of Southern Indiana at 5:15 p.m.
Senior guard
Kacey Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) led McKendree with a career-high 13 points, while junior forward
Ellie Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) added 10 points in the loss.
The Bearcats were unable to find their range in the game, shooting 27.3-percent from the field and 16.7-percent from three. McKendree trailed 18-4 after the first quarter, but rallied to cut the deficit to 28-19 at the half. The Bearcats made both of its three pointers in the contest in the second half, but it wouldn't be enough in the loss.
Kassidy Gengenbacher led all players with 16 points for Lindenwood.
