(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 25) – The McKendree University men's and women's swimming and diving teams in an exhibition dual meet on Wednesday, October 26 at 6:30 p.m. against Southern Illinois University – Carbondale at the Chuck Fruit Aquatics Center in Edwardsville, Ill.
The meet will be live streamed and broadcasted by McKendree's own Austin Lagesse beginning at 6:25 at
glvcsn.com/mckendree.
MEN'S SWIMMING
The men's team previously swam against a Division I school in Saint Louis University, at a dual meet on Saturday, October 22
nd. The Bearcats were defeated by a final score of 126-57. McKendree received three first place swims in the meet,
Matija Pucarevic (Belgrade, Serbia/Sixth Belgrade Grammar School) placed first in the 50 free (21.75) and the 100 free (46.74).
Josh Lamb (Conroe, TX/Arizona State University) also had a first place finish, which came in the 100 breast stroke (58.41). The Bearcats also earned four second place finishes at the meet.
Luca Simonetti (Sassari, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Gulielmo Marconi Sassari) finished in second in the 200 free (1.46.11) and the 500 free (4:53.19), along with
Jack Davies (Conroe, TX/Woodlands College Park High School) earning a second place finish in the 100 back stroke (56.01). The team of
Cole Morgan (George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands/Cayman International School), Lamb, Pucarevic, and Simonetti also earned a second place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of (1:37.17).
The McKendree men's team currently holds seven times in the top 30 in Division II swimming:

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
The women's team swam against three Division I schools at the Saint Louis University meet on October 22
nd. The women competed against Marshall University, the University of Arkansas – Little Rock, and Saint Louis University. The Bearcats lost the head-to-head matchups, but received several good swims from the women.
Milica Sostarec (Alexandria, VA/Medical High School) earned a second place finish in the 50 free with a time of (24.90).
Magdalena Knapp (Bolzano, Italy/Gymnasium Walther von der Vogelweide Bozen) also earned a second place finish, which came in the 100 butterfly with a time of (58.74).
Sydney Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School) earned a fifth place finish in the 100 back stroke, touching the wall at (1:01.63). With the addition of
Alena Hinch (Decatur, IL/Mt. Zion ) to the team, McKendree has four women swimmers, which allowed the team to compete in relay events. The team competed in their first relay, earning a fifth place finish out of nine teams, with a time of (1:42.07).
