(Springfield, Ill., Oct. 26) – The McKendree University men's soccer team fell to 3-8-4 overall, and 2-8-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) as they were defeated by University of Illinois Springfield in a 3-1 contest.

The Bearcats were outshot by the Prairie Stars 17-12 in the contest.

In the 14^th minute of play, Zach Allevi put the Prairie Stars on the board.

Felipe Thompson (Santiago, Chile/Hurricane ) would tie the match up at 1-1 for McKendree as he netted a goal from deep outside the box. Alec Waller (Columbia, IL/Columbia ) assisted on the play.

In the 58^th minute, Allevi would tally his second goal of the contest putting the Prairie Stars ahead 2-1. 32 seconds later, Kanye Sayon would add another for Illinois Springfield capping the lead at 3-1.

In net for McKendree was Ian Bender (Edwardsville, IL/Scott Gallagher Academy). Bender collected nine saves during the contest on 17 shots faced.
