(Lebanon, Ill., Oct. 4) – The McKendree University women's soccer team improved to 8-3 on the 2016 campaign as they defeated University of Lindenwood-Belleville in a 3-0 non-conference contest.
In the match the Bearcats outshot the Lynx 30-7.
Sydnee Carroll (Millstadt, IL/Belleville West) opened the scoring for the Bearcats midway through the first period as she capitalized on a Lynx turnover in front of the box.
Rachel Ford (Trenton, IL/Wesclin) would score her second goal of the season in the 37
th minute as she found the back of the net on a
Brooke Coakley (Granite City, IL/Granite City) rebound.
Heading into the half, the Bearcats controlled a 2-0 lead.
Carroll would continue the attack as she netted her 10
th goal of the season increasing the Bearcat lead to 3-0.
In net for the Bearcats was
Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering ). Brochu collected three saves on the day and picked up her sixth shutout of the season.
The Bearcats are back in action on Friday as they welcome Missouri S&T to Leemon Field for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
