(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 10) – The McKendree University women's hockey team gears up for three games in Colorado over the weekend. Friday at 7:30 p.m. MDT and Saturday at 8 p.m. MDT the Bearcats will take on Colorado State University at the Endora Pool Ice Center in Fort Collins, Co. On Sunday McKendree heads to Boulder, Co. to play against the University of Colorado at 11:30 a.m. MDT at the CU student rec center.
After falling to the University of Colorado on Friday, November 4, the Bearcats now have an overall record of 5-4. Colorado State currently has an overall record of 5-2 after sweeping the University of Denver. The University of Colorado has a record of 8-1, with their lone loss coming against Colorado State.
Leading the scoring charge for the Bearcats are freshman forwards
Delayne Ivanowski (Kirkwood, MO/Kirkwood) and
Lara Wentz (Bismark, ND). In nine games the two forwards have 11 points each. Wentz leads the team in goals with nine, to go along with her two assists. Ivanowski leads the team in assists with seven and has found the back of the net four times.
All three McKendree goaltenders have seen action this season. Sophomore
Abbey Anderson (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) has a record of 1-2 with a 2.63 goals-against average and a save percentage of 0.913, including one shut out. Freshman
Haylee Gannaway (Moreno Valley, CA/Rancho Verde) has a record of 2-2 with a 3.43 goals-against average and a save percentage of 0.899. Freshman
Jazmin Malinowski (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way) has seen the ice in four games with a record of 2-0, a save percentage of 0.866 and a 3.53 goals-against average.
