(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 18)—The McKendree University women's basketball team hosts Lindenwood University in its 2016-17 home opener Saturday at 1 p.m. inside the Harry M. Statham Sports Center.
The Bearcats enter the weekend 1-1 after splitting a pair of non-conference games in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Valley Conference Crossover Tournament.
McKendree is led by senior forward
Ellie Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) who leads the team in scoring with an averaging of 10 points per game to go with 2.5 rebounds. Freshman forward
Shayli Florine (Galesburg, IL/Galesburg) has added eight points per game off the bench for the Bearcats adding three boards and a perfect 6-6 mark from the charity stripe.
Freshman
Megan Jensen (Union, MO/Saint Francis Borgia Regional ),
Andranae Wash (St. Louis, MO/Cardinal Ritter College Prep), and
Madison Hart (Oak Creek, WI/Oak Creek) have each averaged six or more points per game this season. Sophomore forward
Jordan Morton (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South) has tallied a line of five points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game this season. Senior guard Shannon McGinnins leads the Bearcats in rebounding averaging six per game this season.
ABOUT LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY
The Lions enter the weekend with an identical 1-1 record. Freshman forward Kallie Bildner leads Lindenwood in scoring averaging 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season. Sophomore forward CeCe Rapp is the only other Lion averaging double figures in points at 10 per game along with 5.5 boards and one steal. Lindenwood topped McKendree 70-46 in the programs only meeting a season ago.
