(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 22)—The McKendree University women's basketball team picked up its third straight victory with a 58-50 road win over Trevecca Nazarene University Tuesday evening in Nashville, TN.
The Bearcats improved to 3-1 overall and return to the hardwood Saturday afternoon when they host the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
Senior forward 
Emily Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) and sophomore forward 
Jordan Morton (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South) posted an identical line of 15 points and six rebounds. Senior guard 
Shannon McGinnis (Niles, Ill./Trinity) finished two points shy of a double-double with eight points and 12 boards, while freshman guard 
Jordan Heberg (Romeoville, IL/Plainfield North) hit double figures with 10 points while collecting two steals.
The Bearcats outscored the Trojans 30-16 in the paint and were plus 17 in points off turnovers to hold down Trevecca.
McKendree shot 50% from the field in the first quarter and outscored the Trojans 8-4 in the paint as 
Emily Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) downed eight of her 15 points to help the Bearcats bench outscore Trevecca 10-3 and give the Bearcats an 18-11 lead after 10 minutes.
The Trojans cut into the lead in the second frame pulling within two points at 20-18 with 7:02 remaining in the half. McKendree continued to pound the rock inside in the second
quarter adding 10 more points in the paint as they closed the half on an 11-7 run to thanks to a trio of buckets inside from Morton to give the Bearcats a 29-25 lead at the break.
After intermission McKendree used a six point run on a pair of baskets from Morton to extend the lead to 35-27 with 8:18 remaining. Trevecca trimmed the lead to just three points at 39-36 with just 40 seconds remaining and sank a jumper in the closing seconds to cut the lead to 40-38 heading into the final 10 minutes.
Heberg connected from long range to push the lead to five points with 6:50 remaining in the game. 
Emily Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) sank a pair of jumpers and converted three free throw attempts to push the Bearcats lead to 55-47 with just over a minute remaining in regulation. McKendree hit five of its six free throw attempts in the fourth quarter and held off the Trojans down the stretch to earn the win.
