(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 3) – The McKendree University men's and women's swimming & diving teams head to the University of Indianapolis to swim against fellow GLVC teams at the Ruth Lilly Center on Friday beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET, and again on Saturday with a 10:00 a.m. ET start.
This weekend McKendree will be swimming in a two-day dual meet against fellow GLVC teams in the University of Indianapolis, Bellarmine University, and Lewis University. The meets will be streamed live from the Ruth Lilly Center by the University of Indianapolis at
glvcsn.com/uindy.
MEN'S SWIMMING
The men's team previously competed against Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, a NCAA Division I school, and were defeated by a score of 125-54. The team was able to capture first place in two events and four second place finishes in the ten events the team competed in. The Bearcats swam an extremely impressive 400 medley relay, touching the wall with a time of 3:26.40 which was good enough to seat the team with the sixth best time in NCAA Division II this season.
Daniel Buijs (Amersfoot, Netherlands)' swam an impressive 200 backstroke coming in at 1:54.22 to earn the 14
th best time in NCAA Division II this season.
Josh Lamb (Conroe, TX/Arizona State University) improved his 200 breaststroke time in the meet, finishing in 2:07.23 to earn him the 18
th best swim in NCAA Division II this year.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING
In the meet with SIUC, the women's portion of the competition was swam as an exhibition. During the meet the McKendree women took first in three events. Freshman
Magdalena Knapp (Bolzano, Italy/Gymnasium Walther von der Vogelweide Bozen) took first in the 200 free and second in the 50 free. Freshman
Milica Sostarec (Alexandria, VA/Medical High School) took first in the 50 free and second in the 200 free. Freshman
Sydney Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School) placed first in the 200 backstroke, four seconds ahead of the next closest swimmer.
