HARRY STATHAM TRIBUTE VIDEO

(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 12)--McKendree University has produced a special tribute video honoring the milestone accomplishments of men's basketball coach Harry Statham. The 3 1/2-minute video was produced by McKendree's University Communications Office and features tributes from coaches across the nation. Some of the biggest names in college basketball are featured in the video along with several of Coach Statham's coaching brethren from the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Statham, who is in his 50th season as the head coach at his alma mater, collected a pair of coaching milestones within the last week. On Saturday, Feb. 6, he became the all-time wins leader in college basketball history at the four-year level -- men's or women's -- as the Bearcats defeated Maryville University in St. Louis, 92-84. That victory pushed Statham past former University of Tennessee women's coach Pat Summitt for the all-time mark. Just five days later, on Thursday, Feb. 11, Statham became the first four-year college basketball coach to earn 1,100 career victories thanks to a come-from-behind, 108-105 win for McKendree at home against Missouri S&T. 

There will be a public celebration of Coach Statham's milestone achievements recorded this season at the conclusion of the Bearcats' regular-season finale on Thursday, Feb. 25. McKendree will play host to the University of Illinois Springfield with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. A large crowd is expected and fans are encouraged to purchase their seats in advance.
