(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 16) The McKendree University women's soccer team improved to 4-1 on the 2016 season with its 1-0 victory over Maryville University.

Danielle Schmitz would lead the offensive charge for the Saints with a game high 4 shots, putting three of them on goal.
Despite being outshot 13-11 in the contest, the Bearcats were able to find the back of the net.

In the 58^th minute of play, Amanda Williams (Rochester, IL/Rochester) struck gold as she was able to score on a Liz Kaiser (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline) corner kick. This goal would prove to be all the Bearcats needed.  

In net for the Bearcats was Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering ). She collected eight saves on the day, along with her third shutout of the 2016 season.

The Bearcats are back in action on Sunday, when they hit the road to take on University of Missouri-St. Louis at noon.
