(Lebanon, Ill., Jan. 4) – The McKendree University women's basketball team returns to league play this weekend with a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference contests beginning Thursday evening against Quincy University at 5:30 p.m. before taking on Truman State Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. inside the Harry M. Statham Sports Center.
The Bearcats enter the weekend winners of five straight, all of which came in non-conference action and hold an overall record of 9-3 including a 0-2 mark in GLVC play.
McKendree is paced offensively by senior forward
Emily Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) who has averages 8.9 points per game on .586 shooting along with 5.8 rebounds. Fellow senior forward
Ellie Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) is second on the squad with an average of 8.8 points to pair with 3.3 rebounds. Senior guard Shannon McGinnins is third on the team with an average of 7.5 points, while leading the Bearcats in boards, hauling in 7.0 per game. Freshman guard

Jordan Morton (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South) round out the top scorers for McKendree with 6.7 and 6.0 scoring averages. Senior guard

ABOUT QUINCY UNIVERSITY
The Hawks hold a record of 3-10 and share an 0-2 showing in league play. Quincy is led by senior guard Nikia Edom who averages a team high 13 points per game on .468 shooting, while holding shooting a robust .500 from beyond the arc on 76 attempts this season. Junior forward Anika Webster is the only other Hawk to average double figures at 11.4 points per game to pair with a team high 5.2 boards. The teams share a 1-0 record against common opponents this season after Quincy topped Lincoln University 73-70 on Nov. 23 before the Bearcats handled the Blue Tigers 78-66 last week. The Hawks topped McKendree in their only meeting a season ago by a score of 70-54.
ABOUT TRUMAN STATE UNIVERSITY
The Bulldogs enter the weekend at 6-6 and are 1-2 in GLVC play. Truman is paced by senior guard Courtney Strait who averages a team high 10.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Strait also leads the Bulldogs in steals with 31. Senior center Michalina Tomczak is second on the squad with 9.3 points per game to pair with 5.7 boards and a team high 59 blocks. The teams share a record of 1-0 against common opponents after both teams defeated Central Christian earlier this season. Truman came out victorious in the team's only meeting last season 60-49.
