(Springfield, MO., October 15) – The McKendree University men's soccer team moved to 2-11 overall and 0-11 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) as they fell 3-2 to Drury University this afternoon.
The Panthers outshot the Bearcats 17-9 in the contest putting five shots on net.
Drury opened up scoring in the 15 minute as Ben Bruce found the back of the net on a breakaway. The Panthers would add another during the 21 minute of play to increase the lead to 2-0. Drury would find the back of the net once more to gain a 3-0 advantage.
McKendree would not be shutout as
Javier Soto (Santiago, Chile) found the back of the net from five yards out in the 84 minute of play.
In the 87 minute of play the Bearcats would strike again when
Callum Kiddell (Auckland, New Zealand/Mount Albert ) found the ball in front of the net to cut the lead to 3-2.
In net for the Bearcats was
Brett Niedzwiecki (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville High School) who collected two saves.
The men's soccer team returns home on Friday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. when Missouri S&T visits Leemon Field.
