NCAA Regional Rankings
(Lebanon, Ill., November 1) – The McKendree University women's soccer team is set for its 2017 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Semifinal Tournament match-up with Maryville University that will be played Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET at Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis.
NCAA Implications
Today the NCAA released its latest regional rankings, which features McKendree ranked fourth in the Midwest Region. The top six teams of each region will advance to the NCAA Tournament with the top two seeds of each region hosting the first and second rounds.
The Bearcats
McKendree's offense is powered by
Sydnee Carroll, Alynnah O'Leary, Grace Neidhardt, and
Madyson Mossman. Carroll paces the way with 21 points on eight goals and five assists. O'Leary adds 13 points on six goals adding one assist. Mossman provides nine points on three goals and three assists, while Neidhardt adds 10 on four goals and two assists.
Zoe Brochu posts a .903 save percentage in cage on 65 saves adding nine shutouts to her resume.
The Saints
Maryville heads into the weekend 9-5-3 overall and as the number three seed in the GLVC Tournament. The Saints also fighting for a top six spot in the regional rankings, as they are currently unranked in the NCAA poll. Allison Verville and Alex Johnson guide the Maryville offense posting 14 and 13 points respectively. Allison Riddle holds down the fort in net posting a .820 save percentage with six shutouts.
Previous Meeting
On October 22, the Saints and Bearcats met in a GLVC contest in which Maryville walked away with a 1-0 victory. In the match, McKendree outshot Maryville 17-6 putting nine shots on net. Mariah Loya found the back of the net in 60 minute of play on a header from a throw in that Ashley Pogue and Alex Johnson assisted on.
