(Allendale, MI, Nov. 10) – The McKendree University women's soccer season came to a conclusion this evening in the NCAA Tournament as the Bearcats fell to Ohio Dominican University 2-1 in the final minute of the second overtime.

"Another incredible season," said head coach Tim Strange. "Second GLVC Championship and NCAA appearance in the last two seasons."

McKendree struck first in the contest in the 38 minute of play as Sydnee Carroll was able to put together a rush off a Chelsea Whittaker pass that ended with the ball in the back of the net.

The Panthers evened the match at 1-1 as Alli Pavlik found the back of the net on a pass through the box in the 60 minute of play.

Both teams would play the remaining 49 minutes scoreless.

In the final minute of the second overtime, Allie Atkinson had a 1v1 with McKendree goaltender Zoe Brochu. Brochu made a diving point blank save but the rebound was directed to Pavlik who put a shot on net. Bearcat defender Karla Engels made a spectacular save to prevent the ball from entering the net however, the head official ruled a goal to give Ohio Dominican the 2-1 victory.

The Bearcats wrap up the 2017 season at 15-3-3 overall and back-to-back Great Lakes Valley Conference Champions making their second NCAA appearance in as many years.
