McKendree comes in off an 88-44 victory over Blackburn College in its 2017-18 season opener last Satuday at the Harry M. Statham Sports Center. The 44-point margin of victory was the Bearcats' largest in a regular-season opener since becoming NCAA Division II members back in 2013. All 12 McKendree players scored in the win, with Jordan Heberg and Sydney Diekhoff sharing team-high scoring honors with 13 points each. The Bearcats raced to a 28-8 lead after one quarter and never looked back to grab the non-conference win.
Following the two games at Pepsi Arena in Quincy, McKendree will have more than a week off before returning to action on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Lindenwood University. The Bearcats were slated to host the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez on Friday, Nov. 24, but that game was cancelled due to the effects of Hurricane Maria.
