UIndy Quad Meet Day One Results
(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Nov. 4) – The McKendree University men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed at the University of Indianapolis Quad Meet on Friday afternoon.
McKendree posted numerous great swims on the first day of the event, with the men holding a 523-419 lead over Bellarmine University. The Bearcats trail Lewis University by just eight points, with a score of 528-520. The McKendree men also trail the host, UIndy, by a score of 596-461. The women's team trails UIndy, Bellarmine, and Lewis. The Bearcats trail Bellarmine by just 50 points, with a score of 473-423.
The men's team posted 11 top three finishes in just 10 events. Freshman swimmer Alexander Skinner, freshman swimmer Throstur Bjarnason, and sophomore swimmer Matija Pucarevic all grabbed first place finishes on the day. Bjarnason earned a first place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:29.54. Skinner took first place in the 100 freestyle event with a time of 46.46, and Pucarevic earned first place in the 200 butterfly touching the wall in just 1:52.34.
The women's team earned nine top three finishes in 10 events on Friday. Sophomore swimmer Milica Sostarec took first place in two events on the day. Sostarec earned first in both the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle with times of 24.23, and 52.59 respectively. Freshman swimmer Karlie Rimat took first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.30, and grabbed a second place finish in the 200 IM with a time of just 2:10.79.
