(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 17)--The McKendree University women's basketball team will return to the court Monday evening at home against Northwest Missouri State University. The battle of the Bearcats will begin at 6 p.m. inside the Harry M. Statham Sports Center. The game will be broadcast live on the Bearcat Sports Network at

McKendree has not played since last Monday -- Dec. 11 -- when the Bearcats defeated Kentucky State University, 64-51. McKendree outscored the visiting Thorobrettes 24-5 in a decisive third quarter to take the lead for good and snap a five-game winless streak in the process.
Shauniera Wilson (Springfield, Ill./Southeast) enjoyed a career night by pouring in 18 points and adding nine rebounds in the effort. Wilson also blocked two Kentucky State shots. Sydney Diekhoff came off the bench to add 12 points while Jordan Morton matched Wilson with nine rebounds to share team-high honors for the Bearcats, who improved to 2-5 on the year.
In the latest Great Lakes Valley Conference statistical report, McKendree leads the league in rebounding defense, allowing its opponents just 29.9 rebounds per contest. The Bearcats are second among all GLVC squads in rebounding margin at +5.7 per game. Individually, Wilson is third in the conference in blocked shots per game, averaging 1.9 per outing. Morton holds down the No. 9 spot in the report in offensive rebounds at 2.6 per game.
Monday's game will be the final game prior to the holiday break for McKendree. The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 30 with its final non-conference game of the season at Davenport University in Michigan. McKendree's next GLVC contest will come on Thursday, Jan. 4 at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
ABOUT NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE
The Bearcats bring a 1-10 overall record to Lebanon. They are also 0-4 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association standings. Northwest Missouri State has not won its its last eight contests, including at 79-70 setback on Saturday at Quincy University. Four players scored in double figures for the Bearcats, led by 15 points each from Tanya Meyer and Mallory McAndrews. Meyer leads the team in both scoring (14.4 PPG) and rebounding (9.5 RPG). Jaelyn Haggard chips in 12.5 PPG, while Mallory McConkey has handed out a team-best 24 assists.
Monday's game will mark the fourth for Northwest Missouri State against a GLVC opponent this season. In addition to Saturday's contest at Quincy, the Bearcats have also faced Maryville University (Nov. 20) and Rockhurst University (Nov. 24).
