(LEBANON, Ill., Apr. 3) – The McKendree University men's tennis team continued Great Lakes Valley Conference play over the weekend defeating the University of Illinois – Springfield 7-2, and falling to the No. 34 University of Southern Indiana 5-4.
 
The Bearcats move to 8-8 overall on the season, with a record of 1-2 in conference play. In Saturday's competition, McKendree's Abel Moreno (Madrid, Spain/Ortega y Gasset) defeated Sam Kiladejo the Midwest region's No. 20 in singles play by scores of 6-1 and 6-4. In doubles play, Moreno and teammate Ben Muller (Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand/Whangarei) defeated the Midwest region's No. 5 duo of Denis Davydov and James Hardiman by a score of 8-1.
