(LEBANON, Ill., Apr. 7) – Following a split with Illinois-Springfield Tuesday, the Bearcat softball team returns to action Saturday afternoon at Bearcat Field hosting Lewis. The Bearcats and Flyers are set for a noon start time Saturday, April 8 before McKendree begins a 12-game road trip Sunday, April 9 at Wisconsin-Parkside.

-Senior Rachel Hastings (Forsyth, Ill./Maroa-Forsyth )' team-high seven home runs ranks her 11th in the GLVC.
Scouting the Flyers
Lewis (20-15, 8-6 GLVC) currently sits a slot ahead of the Bearcats in the GLVC standings. The Flyers enter the weekend losing six of their last eight games following a split with Wisconsin-Parkside on Tuesday, April 4. Ranking third with a team batting average of .318 and on-base percentage of .383, the Flyers rank in the top 50 best hitting teams in the nation. Sophomore Dara Sanders posts a 1.47 ERA to rank as a top five pitcher in the GLVC, while recording 116 strikeouts to rank 27th in the country. Junior Kaylee Prieto asserts her dominance at the plate with a .417 batting average, recording 13 doubles, three triples, and a 4.47 on-base percentage.
Scouting the Rangers
Wisconsin-Parkside (11-19, 6-6 GLVC) is currently sitting in a three-way tie with William Jewell and Missouri S&T for eighth place. The Rangers are 4-2 in their last six games and most recently split a conference doubleheader with Lewis. Carly Dundee and Kellie Fenza pose a threat at the plate with Dundee batting .351, recording nine home runs and 27 RBI. Fenza is hitting a .341 on the season while driving in a team second-best 19 RBI. Jessica Shields poses a threat on the base paths with a perfect 14-for-14 on stolen base attempts this year. On the mound, Dundee posts a 7-10 record with a 3.11 ERA, while Allison Hausl has a 3-6 overall record.
