(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 11) – The McKendree University swimming & diving teams are set to host two home double dual meets at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex over the weekend. Friday at 5 p.m. the Bearcats will play host to fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) opponents, Bellarmine University and William Jewell College. Saturday at noon McKendree will matchup against Bellarmine University and Washington University – St. Louis.
 
The Bearcats closed out the first half of their season after competing in five meets during the fall, including two multi-day meets. The first half of the season was highlighted by the women's swimming & diving team earning its first head-to-head victory over GLVC opponent Maryville University. The win came in McKendree's first ever home meet on October 20. The women also took second in a field of seven teams at the Derby City Invitational in the first meet of the season. The women also made their first appearance on the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top 25 Rankings, with the No. 23 spot.
 
On the men's side, the Bearcats earned a first place finish in the Derby City Invitational in a field of seven teams. The men went on to defeat both Saint Louis University and Maryville University in the program's first home meet. The Bearcats have already recorded 13 NCAA 'B' cut times this season, with nine times in the top 10 in NCAA Division II. The McKendree men reached their highest position on the CSCAA Top 25 Rankings in November, coming in at No. 15.
