(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 25) – The McKendree University women's hockey team will face off against the No. 2 team in American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) women's D1 this weekend, in their final home contests of the season. The Bearcats will play Adrian College on Friday with warmups beginning at 5 p.m., and again on Saturday at 2 p.m.
McKendree is 9-6-1 overall on the season. The Bearcats are currently ranked No. 11, and are looking to grab wins from No. 2 Adrian College to jump back into the Top 8 teams in ACHA women's D1. With the top 8 teams making the playoffs these games could launch the Bearcats back into a playoff position.
Sophomore forward Domenika Reusche leads McKendree in points with nine, notching five goals and four assists. Freshman forward Dakota Peterson slots in behind Reusche with eight points, with four goals and four assists. Backstopping the Bearcats has been sophomore goaltender Jazmin Malinowkski, who has recorded two shutouts, with a save percentage of 0.956 and a goals-against average of 1.19.
