(HUDSONVILLE, Mich., Oct. 14) – The McKendree University women's hockey team completed its third consecutive series sweep, and first on the road with a 1-0 win over Grand Valley State University on Sunday afternoon.
 
Coming off a 1-0 overtime victory on Saturday, the Bearcats continued that dominance on defense with another shutout win against the Lakers of Grand Valley State University. Junior Natalia Taylor (Sooke, BC, Canada/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame) tallied the lone goal midway through the first period for McKendree as freshman Kayla Waldbillig (West Kelowna, BC, Canada/Mount Boucherie Secondary School) got credit for the assist.
 
In the crease, freshman goaltender Naomi Leasck (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh High School) recorded her second career shutout as she stopped all 35 shots she faced.
 
The women's hockey team will return to the ice on October 25 when they head to Springfield, MO to take on Aquinas College in the Arizona State Showcase.
