(SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Oct. 25) – The McKendree University women's hockey team recorded its third consecutive shutout Thursday night against Aquinas College. The Bearcats hit the road to Springfield, Mo and came out with a 4-0 victory in the first game of the Arizona State Showcase.
Sophomore
Elia Burbidge (Tottenham, Ontario, Canada/The Hill Academy) got the Bearcats on the board early as she got a pass from sophomore
Paris Suzuki (Covina, CA/Covina High School) and buried the puck in the back of the net just minutes into the opening period. With under a minute to go in the first period, junior
Domenika Reusche (San Jose, CA/Archbishop Mitty) lit the lamp with the help from sophomore
Laurynn Davey (Owens Cross Roads, AL/Huntsville High School). McKendree led the Saints 2-0 after the opening period.

Kayla Waldbillig (West Kelowna, BC, Canada/Mount Boucherie Secondary School) got her first of the game as junior
Natalia Taylor (Sooke, BC, Canada/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame) and freshman
Taylor Clarke (Victoria, BC, Canada/Belmont Secondary) were credited with the helpers. Junior
Dakota Peterson (Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada) added to her team lead as she put Aquinas away with McKendree's fourth goal of the game behind assists from junior
Keisha Johnson (Clearwater, BC, Canada) and Waldbillig. The Bearcats went on to win the game 4-0.
Junior
Jazmin Malinowski (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way) recorded 15 saves in her third shutout of the year and her second consecutive shutout in net.
The women's hockey team will return to the ice on Friday, as they take on Concordia University at 2:30p.m.
